Christmas is familiar enough to become invisible. We know the stable, the angel, the shepherds, the star, and the Magi so well that it is possible to move through Advent without feeling the theological shock of any of them. “The Mysteries of Christmas” is designed to recover that shock. Each week takes one familiar element and asks the congregation to look
again – not for novelty, but for depth.
The series follows a deliberate progression. Week 1 begins before Bethlehem with the mystery of promise: God speaks
into history long before fulfillment is visible. Week 2 turns to divine initiative in the virgin conception. Week 3 reaches the center of the Christian claim: the eternal Son enters human life in humility. Week 4 widens the lens to the people God draws toward Jesus, from ordinary local workers to foreign seekers from the East.
